What should I do before I contact Fauxnatic About Color?

Have a budget in mind. Pull inspirational pictures from magazines and/or Pinterest. Be ready to make decisions! The more I learn about you during our initial consultation, the easier the styling process will be. What are your style likes and dislikes? Before we meet for our first consultation, I will email you a questionnaire to fill out so I can get a better understanding of what you are looking for and what your design goals are.

What's the difference between an interior designer and an interior stylist?

As an interior stylist, Fauxnatic About Color can help bring the finishing touches to a room. We do not handle remodels, renovations or structural planning. If you are remodeling or need structural changes to a room, an interior designer, architect and/or contractor will be more suited for the job.

As a stylist, Fauxnatic About Color can help you create your dream space - we know what works together and how to complete your vision. We'll assist you in choosing the perfect color palette, finding your design style, creating a space plan, selecting wallpaper, flooring and furnishings, and choosing window treatments, lighting fixtures and accessories to put the final touch on a room.

How long does the styling process take?

Depending on the size of your home and the number of rooms, a color consultation can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. Color consultations have a limit of 3 hours on a single in-home visit. If more time is needed, an additional consultation will be scheduled.

Shopping, sourcing items and putting together a design plan for your home can take anywhere from 10-30 hours per room. Each project is unique, so time frames may vary. The time frame also depends on when the hard surfaces are installed. Most of our styling services take place after flooring, countertops, paint, etc. are completed.

If you would like a space styled using our eDesign option, lead time of 2-4 weeks is required. Most projects are completed within 2 weeks from the time your project begins.

I just need some inspiration from a professional, but I want to shop for items and complete the project on my own. Is eDesign the best option for me?

eDesign is a great option for you. We will work together online to create a step-by-step design plan that you can implement when you are ready. Your design plan will include paint and material recommendations, furniture and lighting and an inspiration mood board with purchasing links, a shopping list and a space plan.
